Scholarship Halls are a communal living environment, where residents agree to do a shift or a “chore” every week in exchange for a cheaper living cost. It comes out to be about $1,800 less a year. I lived in one for four years, and it was a phenomenal experience.Living in KU student housing is the green choice. Housing options: Residence halls — traditional two-person rooms or two- and four-person suites. Meal plans are included in residence hall contracts. Scholarship halls — about 50 students in each hall, all participating in cooking and cleaning the hall so they pay less for room and board.
